Sue K. Chen, B.A, M.B.A, J.D

Sue Chen, the Principal of Sue Chen Lawyers, has been practicing law for 19 years. After articling at a busy civil litigation firm, she ventured out on her own to start a practice in Ontario. Since then, Sue has successfully represented both plaintiffs and defendants in a broad range of civil matters, as well as in the criminal justice system. Over the years, Sue has built a prominent practice, with a focus on personal injury and commercial litigation. With her extensive mediation, arbitration and trial experience, Sue is a skillful negotiator and advocate who works tirelessly to protect and further her clients’ interests. 

Sue Chen Lawyers is renowned in the Chinese community in Toronto and beyond. Having represented numerous clients from different ethnicities, Sue has an in-depth understanding of various cultural sensitivities, and approaches each file with passion and insight.

Sue has shared her legal expertise through interviews with various Asian media outlets including Fairchild News, Fairchild Radio, Singtao newspaper, Mingpao newspaper, CHIN radio, and Today Daily News.

Sue has appeared as a guest speaker for six episodes of an educational legal series on Fairchild Radio. Of note, the judgment from her successful appearance on behalf of the Plaintiff in the Divisional Court in the case of Ng v. Beline, was published in the Ontario Reports.

Nick Hamilton B.A, J.D. - Partner

Nick obtained his law degree from the University of Alberta, where he was awarded the Sheldon M. Chumir scholarship for Ethics in Government. After graduating, he articled at a leading national law firm in Toronto. 

Nick joined Sue Chen Lawyers P.C. in 2016. His practice focuses on personal injury and commercial litigation, including contract disputes, employment litigation, and construction and real property litigation.

Nick is a skilled litigator. He has successfully represented clients at the Divisional Court, Superior Court, Provincial Court and before various tribunals. He is always aggressively pursuing negotiated resolutions for his clients, but when necessary he will present an organized and compelling case in court. In this regard, he has been recognized by the Court for his "able and skilled submissions." (First On Campus Development Ltd. v. YH Specialty Glass Ltd., 2019 ONSC 1279)

When he is not working (and not injured) Nick spends most of his time training and competing in Olympic Weightlifting.

Daniaal Sibtain, B.A, J.D

Called to the Bar of Ontario in 2020, Daniaal joined Sue Chen Lawyers in 2019 as an articling student and continues as a lawyer today.

At the law school of University of Calgary, he volunteered with Student Legal Assistance providing representation and advice to Calgary students and low-income residents on a range of matters. He gained invaluable experience providing summary legal advice and assisting duty counsel while volunteering for Pro Bono Students Canada as Civil Claims Duty Counsel. He is passionate about access to justice and prides himself on approaching every client with the utmost compassion and consideration. 

His areas of practice are general civil litigation, personal injury and employment.  He has appeared before the Ontario Small Claims Court and the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. 

An avid sports fan (go Raptors!) who is active in the Mississauga and South Asian community, Daniaal is fluent in English, Urdu and Hindi.
